2026 International Touring Exhibition

Water · Nature · Culture

In 2026, Water · Nature · Culture travelled across China, Italy and Australia, bringing together children, educators, artists, families and communities through a shared exploration of water, nature, place and culture.

Across three international exhibitions, children’s projects and creative processes moved beyond individual learning settings and entered public cultural and community spaces. Each exhibition was shaped by its local context, with support and participation from local governments, educational organisations and community partners.

Shanghai, China🇨🇳

1–24 January 2026
Lujiazui Culture and Education Centre, Shanghai

The international journey began in Shanghai, with children’s work presented in a public cultural and educational setting in Lujiazui.

Supported by local community and government networks, the exhibition created opportunities for educators, children and families to encounter different perspectives on nature and culture. A series of creative workshops extended the exhibition into participatory experiences, including explorations of light, materials and children’s visual languages.

Guastalla, Italy🇮🇹

21–28 March 2026
San Francesco Church, Guastalla Italy🇮🇹

The second exhibition took place in the historic setting of San Francesco Church in Guastalla, bringing the project into a new cultural and architectural context.

The Italian exhibition received support from the local governments and communities of Guastalla, Novellara and Poviglio, with educators, families and community members contributing to the international exchange.

Adelaide, Australia🇦🇺

8 June – 8 July 2026
Mawson Centre, Adelaide, South Australia

The final stop brought the exhibition to Adelaide, connecting the international project with local children, educators, families and the wider South Australian community.

The Adelaide program was supported by the City of Salisbury and community organisations, with additional engagement from multicultural and educational networks. Alongside the indoor exhibition, the project expanded into outdoor and nature-based experiences, including a wetland workshop, allowing children and families to continue exploring the relationship between water, landscape and place.

Three Countries · Three Places · One Continuing Dialogue

From Shanghai to Guastalla and Adelaide, Water · Nature · Culture demonstrated how children’s ideas can travel across languages, landscapes and cultures.

The 2026 exhibition became the beginning of a wider international network — connecting people, places and possibilities through children, creativity and shared encounters.
